I was reading a post today about a blogger’s experience of increasing his traffic by simply commenting on other people’s blogs.

Has he sampled the beginning of a traffic snowball? if he can retain visitors by keeping them involved with his site, he can carry on attracting new visitors by commenting on more and more other blogs. After a an amount of time I would guess his site would reach a critical ratio; number of visitors against visitor activity. Once the activity of his visitors reaches a point where his site starts ‘breathing for itself’ and the activity of his visitors alone is enough to retain the number of visitors he can start dedicating all his time to attracting new visitors.
