Running, Not Riding and the Great Run
January 16th, 2008 by Giles SmithWhat have I done? I just signed up for the Great Run and wheras I can quite happily ride my bike for miles until I get bored, the last time I ran anywhere was when I did the cross country at secondary school. Er that was about 11 years ago as well!!
I put on my entry form that I could do it in under 50 minutes, so if I keep going at about 7.5 mph I should be fine. Now to a biker that sounds really slow but anyway I guess I will find out on the day!
Crow: (Enter Stage Right)
October 29th, 2007 by Giles Smith
This crow was following me, it seemed to know that I had my camera out that day. Whilst climbing Snowdon in Wales with work (UKFast Climb Snowdon) this cheeky fellow, I decided adventerously to call him mr crow, was pursuing us up the mountain taking great delight in posing for the camera.
Well that was until the boss’s dogs noticed and then took of in chase towards a rather steep drop. Anyway, like the crow in this photo I like to be aware of my surroundings, a good theme I hope for what you might have to suffer here.
Well that’s it, I was going to write up all about going mountain biking the other weekend, but I am exhausted and you can read about it here for now.
Oh yeah I am listening to Two Nations by the Streets
Specialized Rockhopper Comp Disc 07
May 14th, 2007 by Giles SmithSpecialized Rockhopper DiscSpecialized’s strap line for their Stumpjumpers used to be out the box and ready to race. You could make the same claim for Rockhoppers since they inherited the Stumpie’s M4 frame. Especially when you consider the Comp’s race-ready kit such as a RockShox Recon 335 SL 100mm-travel fork with Turn Key lockout, and its all-Shimano Hollowtech cranks, SPD pedals and XT rear gear.
My new bike!
I pick it up on tuesday evening, with 20% off the bike and all the trimmings!
